Chip card is a payment plastic card with inbuilt microchip in it, which may contain about 80 times more information than magnetic stripe of current plastic cards. Unlike these cards, chip card is able to process and save data, this lets its holder use much more capabilities using it. Besides, it may be multifunctional, debit and credit, and also it may contain loyalty programmes (consider bonuses and discounts). It is necessary to point out that chip is practically impossible to forge.
“Work with chip cards allows coming to a qualitatively new level of client servicing in the network of ATMs and POS-terminals of the Bank throughout the territory of Ukraine” – underlined the Head of Payment Cards Department, Vladimir Belous.
